Effects of AG1 Supplementation on the Adult Gut Microbiome

This study investigated the effects of AG1Ⓡ, a multi-ingredient synbiotic supplement, on the gut microbiome and general health of thirty healthy adults. Using a double-blind, placebo-controlled design, researchers discovered that four weeks of daily use successfully enriched beneficial probiotic taxa like Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum.

Participants taking the supplement showed a potential 62.5% improvement in their digestive-associated quality of life compared to those receiving a placebo. The results further indicated that the product is clinically safe, as it caused no negative changes to blood markers, vital signs, or stool consistency.

While individual donor profiles influenced overall microbial diversity, the supplement appeared to promote metabolic pathways linked to healthy fatty acid synthesis. Ultimately, the authors conclude that AG1Ⓡ is a well-tolerated option for adults seeking to support their gastrointestinal environment.
